BF6 Gamers Concur: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The release of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 was met with significant enthusiasm, especially for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, in spite of its success, many players are protesting against several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are required to access certain guns.
Players have started turning to personalized games created through the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how demanding these assignments have become.
Grasping BF6 Assignments
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four categories of assignments, but where most simply offer outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of acquiring 12 of the 41 primary weapons found within the game.
A number of these gated guns might eventually find their way on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash via Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious some of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you prefer to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Ridiculously Tough Mission
A different forum member highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the marksman rifle class to obtain the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and possibly Operation Firestorm at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The Battlefield Portal is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game.
Yet, if tackling the tasks in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, who can blame someone for completing them in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It is expected if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
At the moment, the player base continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
