Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
