American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

An Palestinian-American adolescent after completing 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without being charged was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.

The state department said it would continue to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership considers paramount to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, demanding more be done to release him.

Mohammed's parent, with four children operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, had earlier stated his son only confessed about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment through judicial records.

He stayed without charge in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations including killings.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of physical abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian according to health authorities was beaten to death by radical settlers following tensions last July.

Initially, military authorities reported officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

The two cousins were employed together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No one has been charged for the cousin's murder.
